Insights from the experts
How to use Heritage White
Heritage White thanks to higher levels of pigment compared to our other white shades bridges the gap between a white and a soft neutral. The level of lighting, the surrounding area and other colours used on the outside of your home can all lead it to appear lighter, darker, cooler and warmer on a case-by-case basis. This adaptability makes it a beautifully dynamic colour that can keep your home visually interesting and inviting.
Colour Combinations
Like many masonry paint colours with grey undertones, Heritage White reacts best to monchrome tones that enhance its hues without overpowering it. Depending on whether you want to lift or ground Heritage White, our experts recommend opting for either a White or Black colour to harmonise with it. Particularly if your home doesn’t get large amounts of natural light, White can brighten the exterior and bring out some of the warmer tones in Heritage White. On properties with more direct light, the whiter hues of Heritage White will be enhanced, meaning Black can sharpen and elevate the building by creating a strong visual border around architectural features.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Heritage White suitable for listed or older buildings?
Yes, it beautifully compliments traditional architecture, while the protective properties of our formulation allows older buildings to stay dry, to breathe and to be refreshed without risking the propertiesโ safety. When it comes to picking colours for a listed building, we always advise contacting the local regulatory body for advice.
How does Heritage White look in direct sunlight?
As Heritage White has a slightly warm hue, the golden tones come out in direct sunlight, making a home look inviting and cosy, whilst still giving all of the lightness you would expect from a white masonry paint colour.
Could Heritage White be used as a secondary colour?
Yes, we love this idea – pairing a darker, warmer shade like Brown Sugar with Heritage White trims and plinths can maintain the warmth and softness of a property, while creating a seamless aesthetic.
